Ride the Wild Dragon; Relieve Stress and Leant into the Adventure is a book that Anna Fussell has written to help people cope with the uncertainty of these times. We are in powerful times of change on this planet. Many have written about these times with doom and gloom. This book gives us the metaphor of flight on a dragon as a viable alternative to the typical fight or flight response that nature has instilled in us and is a wonderful, uplifting, and inspiring mataphor.
Ride the Wild Dragon looks at a particular phase of success in the Law of Attraction. After we have visualized and asked for that which we have asked for, we face a period of time and a place called The Gap. We don’t know how or when our request will be met. Navigating the Gap is moving through the unknown. Many of us – as did I – while I was waiting for housing to appear in a specific time, feel stressed in the gap. There is another way to walk through that period.
Whenever we look into the face of the unknown, our inner phantoms emerge. We humans just plain old feel fear when faced with uncertainty. Much of the stress we feel arises from the internal dialogue between aspects of self that are called survival patterns. When we are faced with the unknown, we pull out our oldest behaviors which we learned as infants and children to survive the passage of growing up.
For more information about these survival patterns, please see “The I, The Orchestra, and The Self.” Ride the Wild Dragon talks about ways to harmonize these aspects of self. The whole category of Acceptance on this site has a number of blog entries that will help you learn the stages of harmonization which are Recognition, Acceptance and Coordination.
