The Secret to Creating the Impossible

Friday, July 14th, 2017

I am SO much better. To celebrate my return, I wanted to share a very simple secret to creating a reality that you want, but seems improbable. It is so simple.

All you have to really do is
know that it is possible.

This sounds too easy to be true. But it is simple, and it is true. Ah, but the however…… to know (not just believe) that it is possible: that is the conundrum. I have written about it repeatedly here on this blog. Here are steps to the creation of the impossible.

1. Be tuned in, tapped in, and turned on to your aliveness.
2. Raise your vibratory rate again, and again, and again.
3. Do your personal and spiritual growth work.
4. Trust in your own inner compass and use your intuition.
5. Connect with the best and highest of yourself.
6. Connect with the largest vision of your life.
7. Stay in flow as much as possible
8. Enjoy and delight in the present moment.
9. Know that what you desire is possible.
10.Journey through the gap between “what is currently” to the “what is of the future”.

“What?##!!” you say. “That could take a lifetime.” So it could, but what a lifetime it is! And as I have said so many times before, it is all a State of Being. Some people call it a mindset. But there is much more to it than your mind. It is your whole being, body, soul, emotions, mind, and consciousness.

A story might help. I had a health condition called colitis. (I changed the verb to past tense, did you notice). My Dad and his brother also had it. My Dad was forced to retire when in his early 40’s because he could not work.

My colitis began in my late 40’s and I was able to work. Last
fall I resolved to make my health my top priority. The autoimmune food plan that I have committed to has really made an improvement. I’ve been feeling better.

However, in my secret self, I did not believe I would ever be without this ‘disease.’ I’ve heard many stories of other people who were able to make themselves better, but inside I figured that was for other people, it couldn’t happen to me. One day something really got my attention.

I was telling my oldest brother about my condition, and he just out of the blue, said “You know don’t you, that Dad healed himself of this when he was 65?” I said no, I didn’t know that. My whole being reeled!

He continued. “You are doing the same thing, you know. You are eating only those foods that don’t create inflammation. You are eating happy meat, you are eating organically. You are fundamentally creating the same circumstance that Dad did. The other thing he did was gather some prayer warriors and ask for a healing.”

I thought to myself, “My Dad was really a lot sicker than I ever have been. If he could live with the disease that long, and then cure it when he was 65, then by golly so can I!”

And all of a sudden, healing my body of the disease became very real to me. I could now envision the possibility of being free of Colitis. The Universe has offered me some very different ways of healing it that I didn’t expect. I totaled my car in March while driving to see my daughter. My doctor offered a brand new procedure to take out my colon except for a few inches of it (no outside bag). “You would be disease free” she said.

Dying or having major surgery was not what I had in mind. But there was certain humor about the fact that I could be completely disease free in those possibilities. I passed on those options.

But now I knew it was possible to become free of this condition. And I am getting better and better and better. Sometime soon, I intend to report to you that I no longer have that condition.

When you know something CORE deep, it is so much easier to journey through the unknown of the GAP without clutching in fear or the need to figure it out.

So that’s the profound secret to changing Reality from what you have to: what you want it to be. Just this simple. Know that it is possible.

Let me hear from you. please share your story with me. You can talk to me on the Public Facebook Group called “Success Factors

What Two Ingredients Put You Into Flow?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015

These last three months, I have not been in Flow. Before I tell you about the two special ingredients of Flow, which I am so glad I remembered I want to tell you my journey.

My consciousness has been getting more alert and I feel I can see more. Some truly spectacular things have been happening for me, and yet it has been a very jerky ride. One day things are great. The next day, or moment, things are upside down again.

Usually, when I am in the flow, my life feels magical. Reality seems to actually become pliable. This life these last three months? Not so much. Yet I have made huge strides in clarity, self-confidence, boundaries, speaking my truth, and the most wonderful thing is that I have dropped a huge amount of reactivity. I am more authentic, powerful, and straightforward. And with this empowerment a few darker areas of my consciousness came to light.

These High Octane Times
Here’s what I’m thinking. We are in times when things are shifting big time. If you can stay tuned in, tapped in, turned on to life, your awareness will expand and you see multiple dimensions of possibility.

But making this shift is a challenge. Whatever is not alive and awake comes up and grabs you and says “Wake up!” It is not fun getting those wake up calls. But the potential is phenomenal and the energy is here for us to transform exponentially. The energy will propel us forward powerfully. Of course when we hit a snag, it feels like running into a tree when we have been going 100 miles an hour.

For a while in this high octane energy field, I got lost in some depression, some nostalgia during the holidays, and having poor health for at two months.

So what did I do? I read, relaxed, tried to get well, and worked my emotional process. I got somewhat lost in the feelings, though I trusted the process and knew it would lead me forward.

Remembering at Last
This morning I was inspired to relisten to a seven minute video Vishen Lahkiani, CEO of a personal growth company called MindValley. He reminded me of those essential ingredients to the state of flow and four states of mind in his video Flow, The Paradox of Intention and Four States of Mind. I thought you might enjoy his perspective.

Four States of Mind
Vishen identifies these four states of those people who are business owners and follow the Law of Attraction. Vishen has developed this concept over a couple of years and says the Flow is the 4th step. Here is a description of each state, and the name I call them.

1. Misery or Survival

You are completely unhappy right now –

2. Comfort of Current Reality.

You are happy, content, but you have no vision. ‘Let’s all hang out in Bliss.’ –

3. Stress and Anxiety

You have great dream and visions, but unhappy because they are not there yet –

4. Flow

When you are happy now, you have a vision and are happy with the journey –

While I was working my process, I had gotten lost in the Stress and Anxiety State of Mind. And sometimes that’s just natural. I was looking at a core pattern that I want to transform. This pattern has deep roots, has operated for my lifetime, and had a very dark piece that came into being to protect an innocent child.

This journey into Stress and Anxiety was an intentional act of courage to look at a core wound I have so that I can transmute this pattern and restore my connection with “Who I really Am.” I just got bogged down in the survival vibrations along the way.

Two Ingredients to Flow
So what are the two ingredients to restore myself to Flow? According to Vishen I need to:

Be happy now (before I reach my dream).
Have the vision of where I am headed.

So happiness is part of the journey not the destination. This balancing of happiness right in this moment, while aspiring for something we want or are dreaming about is something Esther Hicks calls The Gap in the Law of Attraction work.

Vishen is saying “Get rid of Stress and Anxiety while you are on the journey.” And that my friends are what we are called to do right now in these times. It is not always easy, but it is incredibly fulfilling. See Journeying Through the Gap.

Ways to Stay Happy
We need to put systems in place to help us be happy along the way. Here is Vishen’s list of practices to keep ourselves happy. I link to past blog entries that are my input on these practices.

1. Meditation.

Meditate into a New State of Being
Meditate. Why?

2. Guided Visualization –

3. Intention Setting. Esther Hicks calls this process Segment Intending. You can set an intention for this moment, this day, this year, or this particular segment of time – like when you pick up a phone call.

6. Gratitude

Last month I worked on my Vision Board for 2015. So I am very clear about my vision this year. I just had forgotten to be happy along the way (even though it is on my Vision Board). I’m reminding myself about ways to go back to being happy. Counting my blessing always makes me feel better.

This journey of living and becoming more conscious is a constant growing and then rebalancing process and sometimes we forget along the way. It’s just natural. And now that I’ve finished this essay, I realize that I knew all this all the time – just as you do too. We’re just human beings doing the best we can. We are constantly Remembering and Forgetting.

Vision Boards and Goal Setting

Saturday, January 31st, 2015

Vision Boards are something I complete at least once a year. In December of 2014 and January of 2015 I contemplated what I would like my vision for this year to be. The title I gave to this particular board is “Life Is Good.” Colors and words really energize me so I have a precious box of clippings of headlines, photos, words that I draw from. I go through magazines looking for particular things that grab me. It is so fun.

Before I started the vision board, I just held the question in my heart “What do I want to focus upon in 2015. What are the specific areas I want to grow?” This year I had several areas.

Wellness

Eating better, feeling better physically, stay healthy
      Emotional wellbeing: to treasure myself.

Embracing the Now. Really savoring the moment, every hour, every day and asking the question
“What can I offer the word that no one else around here can?”

Grow my consulting practice where I practice presence, guided by soul, and help others create great lives for themselves with a power new technique I am developing.

Play with friends and share joy and smiles.

Enjoy Intimacy with a beloved by getting close without going nuts. Then I found the best quote that I would not have put on my board before now, which says that “Intimacy is a willingness to be vulnerable.” Oofda! Now that’s some personal courage, because Vulnerability scares me to death.

Find my new place that is an oasis to nourish my heart and mind, feed my soul, where I can savor the summer, garden and be joyful.

My process is an intuitive organic one which is like the intuitive way I live my life. When I finish, I have created something visually attractive that holds my attention all year long.

Other people like to be more goal oriented. Whatever works for you is terrific.

If you are more logically, sequential in your thinking, then I would invite you to listen to Vishen Lahkiani who is the CEO or MindValley and FinerMinds, which are personal development companies that are very inspiring. He did a speech redefining goals. He separates goals into 2 categories. Are these means goals or are they end goals?
Three questions help you turn your attention to End Goals.

What experiences do I want in my life?
How do I want to grow?
How do I want to contribute?

You can listen to Vishen’s talk Goals Revisited. I urge you to listen to a description that helps you convert your thinking from taking steps to achieve an end, to seeing a broad vision for yourself ad directing yourself toward that dream.

Another framework is to try to make sure your life is balanced by making aspirations in 12 areas in your life.

      A) Health and Fitness
      B) Intellectual Life- skills, languages
      C) Emotional Life –happiness in the now, getting rid of limiting beliefs
      D) Character – values, what do you believe in, compassion, humor
      E) Spiritual Life – how often do you meditate, feeling more interconnected with all life
      F) Love Relationships – Learning to Care for Other, for Self, for the Relationship
      G) Parenting Vision
      H) Social Life
      I) Financial Life
      J) Career: What do you want to build?
      K) Quality of Life
              L) Life Vision – what mark do you want to leave on the world

These 12 categories are discussed in another Vishen talk called The Theory of Awesomeness: How to live in the Ultimate State of Human Existence that he got from a man named John Butcher.

Here’s my thought. To build a balanced life, you want to think about the huge vision of your life and create what I call a life plan. I can’t accomplish a goal in each one of these areas in one year of my life. I just can’t focus on that many things. It puts me into overwhelm. But if you have some extra time, you may want to begin creating a Life Plan, just as banks require Business Plans if they are thinking of giving you funds. If you write it down, you are much more likely to achieve your vision.

Dwell in Possibility

Monday, June 09th, 2014

The San Juan Islands have called to me for more than 25 years. So much so, that here in the last third of my life, I have migrated to the Pacific Northwest. My favorite spots on the mainland are always where I can see the water and the islands.

Two months ago, my naturalist friend invited me to go with her and her daughter to visit an island I had not seen. I said yes. As the time to visit approached, I began to second think myself. I was very busy preparing for a choral concert. Many of my clients had requested my time. I was tired. I had too much to do. I wasn’t feeling well. I almost cancelled. Why would I tell you this? Because the decision to go was important. I almost overrode myself, and easily could have, because I have a huge internal responsibility carrier.

In the end, I was miffed at some things, and I just said to myself. “I have never had this opportunity to go. I want to go. I am going.” That decision changed my life.

Travel in the San Juans requires using ferries. When I walked onto the ferry, it was raining in Anacortes. When I walked off on Orcas, it was sunny and blue skies. For the hour or so on the ferry, you watch the seagulls, the seascape reflecting a huge sky, and are charmed by sailboats, and kayaks, and possibly a whale. It is one of my most loved activities, standing forward in the salt air, watching this pristine world go by. It just soothes my soul.

Orcas the island has mountains and forests, and lots of coast, as three fjord-like bays push themselves up from the bottom of the island. The Pacific Northwest has some of the cleanest water and air that can be found in the US. Waters come barreling down from the glaciers and snow covered Cascade Mountains, through the salmon filled rivers into the Salish Sea. The peoples of this area want to protect their beautiful habitats.

Yes, I love this area. I love the people here who love their wildlife and spawning grounds. In the islands, people grow huge organic gardens surrounded by 8 feet fences so not to provide a continuing brunch to the native deer. When I ride by the farms or the forests or beaches clogged with driftwood, my heart just brims with fulfillment.

And so it was that I woke the next morning, went for a walk with my jasmine tea, and looked west over the marina and tiny island outside of Deer Harbor. My friend worked on a watercolor painting before we headed to our afternoon adventure of driving to the top of Mount Constitution, the highest lookout in the San Juan Islands. As we stepped into the car, she handed me a brand new mug asking “Can you use this?” Scribed on a pink bank of color were the words from Emily Dickinson “Dwell in Possibility.”

A shiver went through me. “Absolutely I can use this,” I answered. And I did. For the next two days, I contemplated the notion of dwelling in possibilities. “What would it be like to live in an environment like this? How did I feel when I contemplated such a possibility? What would it be like to have my children visit me in such a setting? What kind of views would I enjoy with my morning tea? What would it be like to live where cell phone coverage is spotty? Which did I prefer, a water view, or a valley view?”

As I drifted through the bliss of the next two days, we went to Lopez Island where the best Ice Cream in the world is made, and you can sit in the ferry line and buy a pint from the truck ahead of you at island prices.

In my imagination, I tried on many places to live; farms, resorts at the coastal edge, forest cabins, single storied charmers in the village of Eastsound, and a fifty feet sailing yacht at Rosario Resort. It was like going clothes shopping, but much more satisfying. I didn’t engage the part of my mind that says, ‘you don’t have the money for a fifty foot sailboat, or traveling regularly by float plane.’

The days were full of my just enjoying where I was, and saying many ‘what ifs?’ It helped that I wasn’t the driver, I just sat back and enjoyed wherever our car meandered. Around every turn was another unexpected treat.

I sent my inner censor on vacation, while I smelled the colors of sea and sky, and sipped forest paths, drank sunsets and savored the taste of ‘dwelling in possibilities.’ The power of such a feast for the senses, was that I was surrounded by the ‘what is’ of island sights and smells. I haven’t felt that much joy and serenity in a long while. Curiously, I never asked the question as I considered possibilities ‘what would it be like to live here?’ That was just further than my imagination could stretch.

So I pondered and poked and stayed with the pure bliss of the experience of standing on various islands, enjoying flights of fancy inspired by a young woman whose writings did not become famous until after her death. Another of her quotes has always been a favorite.

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words—and never stops at all.”
—Emily Dickinson

Perhaps affected by the transcendalists of her time, she lets the spirit of nature soar through her words.

As I reflect on my experience those three days in the islands, I remember how affected I was by the philosophies of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ralph Waldo Trine, Henry David Thoreau; transcendentalists, who believed that there is more than what we know that transcends our senses. We come to this knowing through our imagination and intuition and therefore can trust ourselves to be our own authority about what is right for us. Perhaps that is what Thoreau meant about our following a different drummer.

Dwelling in possibilites for three days, set the stage for a whole new adventure.

Journeying through the Gap

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

Journeying through the Gap is not a passive state. It requires that we take lots of steps. I have a confession to make. Last year I had a number of challenges, but I had some mega successes as well. I wrote about some of them in the blog entry Ten Steps to Turn Burning Goals into Reaity, and Meditation, Manifestation and the Law of Success.

I received stunning support from the universe for some large requests.

Then I needed to live through the receiving of those things in my life, and it just has not been a piece of cake. The challenges have been so high from having these wonderful things in my life, that sometimes I feel as though I have been brought to my knees.

Frankly, it scared me to receive all that I had asked for, because the accompanying challenges have been equally stunning. I think I lost some courage about asking for anything more because my plate has been so full. It feels as though the Universe has been asking me to live bigger.

Because I haven’t been asking for things, or events, or successes, I haven’t been as focused on the principles that I write about on this blog. So guess what happened? You can see it coming can’t you? My vibration dropped. My spiritual practices have tapered off. And I have forgotten how supportive the Universe can be.

There are stages in the Law of Attraction. I was reminded of that by a recent quote I saw.

God Makes a Promise.
Faith Believes it.
Hope Anticipates it.
Patience quietly awaits it.

These four stanzas echo four of the stages of the Law of Attraction, or manifesting. We are told to “Ask and it is given.” That is the promise we are given.

Then we enter the gap between what we asked for and the receiving of it.

We need to use our Faith to know that the ‘what is’ (current reality) is not the answered request. We have to have Faith to travel through the gap between “what is” and “what is to come.” We humans rely on our eyes and they focus on physical reality-the ‘what is.’ We are on a journey, and we need to take along supplies and reminders that we are on an inner journey of consciousness until we reach our destination. I needed to remember to have Faith, and I forgot for a while.

Hope is necessary. It anticipates our receiving our request. Hope helps us look forward through the dense undergrowth of the forest of “what is” for glimpses of the future that is making its way to us, as we move forward.

Patience is not easy for most of us. Once I am clear about what I want, I want it now. Yet, when I travel to Portland on Amtrak, I am not asking “are we here yet?” Do you remember having kids who kept asking that question when on a trip or remember asking that when you were little? So now why would I let my inner impatient child be in charge of traveling the gap?

What I do when I am on a train trip, I excitedly look forward to watching Puget Sound pass by my window. I watch the other passengers, I talk to some. I might visit the Food car. I always bring a book to pass the time. I bring snacks. I take pictures. I have a great time traveling on that train. I look for signs of towns going by to mark where I am on my journey. Each time I do the trip, I see something different. Seems to me I need to do more planning of what to do while I am waiting for the Universe to answer a request. And this is the rub, we are not just waiting, we are traveling too. Everything in our system is adjusting.

I read several blog entries here that tell me Never to Give up Hope, and Don’t Despair.

As I pondered this last year, I see that the truth is I have already been asking for much bigger things for three years – which will bring my work to more people and make me more visible. So I am in a really big gap, and I am in training to get ready to step forward into what I have asked for – which is not here yet.

The gap is so big, that I forgot while down in the forest of “What is” what my request was. While I have been in ‘training’ I have made several mistakes. I have taken it as personal when I have encountered challenges and gotten sick. Then I have felt shame, I have felt cowardly, I have beaten myself up, and generally judged myself harshly.

I think I need to go read the category called “When You Forget.”

I need to find a way to cope with the fear that of course is coming up, because I am getting closer to reaching my heart’s desire.
………………….
Some time has passed since I began this entry. I realize that I got very lost in the Forest of “What IS’. I lost hope and some faith, and certainly my direction. Then I my inner judge beat myself up unmercifully. No fun. And it helped me stay lost.

Now with some perspective, I can look back on my time of being lost in the Forest of ‘What Is’ and see that many things were percolating under the surface. In order for me to step into my greater vision of myself, I needed to traverse some inner swamps; issues such as overworking, setting boundaries, bouts of low self worth, stepping into my strength when receiving negative feedback, and more.

Now I can see I was gaining some needed resilience by traversing through some of the swamps. Just recently, I remembered the concept of the imaginal cell. When a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, it spins a cocoon. Inside, that cocoon turns into a soup before imaginal cells begin taking on the new form and emerges as a butterfly. I literally had been in the soup of transformation. I can see clumps of cells that are beginning to take form.

Seems to me our whole world is in that process, and it is not fun. But a powerful amount of restructuring is happerning.

So what do I need to do now?

  • I need to realign with my inner compass,
  • remember my bigger intention,
  • value the journey that is underway through the gap,
  • celebrate small steps forward,
  • re-energize my faith and hope,
  • take some vision trips to get a dragon’s eye view of the territory I am traversing,
  • look for signs that the universe is sending help,
  • begin having deep gratitude for the journey that is bringing me closer to my goal with every step,
  • and relax into Trusting the Process.

I’m have not travelled the whole gap yet, but I see many signs of progress. Fortified with Faith, Hope, and renewed Vision, I do trust the process for I have deep experience with it all working out for me.

Vision and the Law of Success

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Vision is necessary to operate the Law of Success. Vision and the Law of Success are linked. To move toward something, we need propulsion. When we have a dream we have something that we look toward. Dreams are very important first steps in operating the Law of Success. Dreams are often cut off at the knees because we are afraid to have the dream because we don’t always believe they can come true. So we need to nurture and care take our dreams because they are the embryos of our future success.

When our Dream becomes a pulsating Desire, we put more fuel on our train moving toward success. Hicks talks about rockets of desire shooting out of us. We want something very badly. Hill named Burning Desire as his first step toward utilizing the Law of Success. Sometimes that Burning Desire can completely overcome any doubt we have about obtaining our Desire like Debra Fields did with Mrs. Field’s cookies. When we place our wholehearted self behind an endeavor, we can move mountains. I’m reminded of the story of a leader who wanted to give his army a burning desire to win, so he burned all the ships in which they arrived, and to guarantee their success said – “to get home, you are going to have to win the battle.”

When things are dire in our lives, we have to pull everything we have together and rally every resource we have to get through those times to success. When our financial lives are on the line, we have to give it our all. And that is the gift. Those times call from us our absolute best and beyond. Because to fail is not an option in our path to success. We may rail at God or the Universe, and we may fret and fume at times. Unless we want to give up, there is no other option except to go forward and to find some solution that we haven’t found before that will happen as we utilize the law of success. We are forced to go beyond our comfort zones. We are forced to look at our beliefs to see what is holding us back. Sometimes we are pushed to the absolute limit, and realize that we cannot do it alone and we need help. That may be when we surrender our course to the Divine, and prayer becomes our engine. From there we lift out of survival and begin to contemplate purpose and vision. We certainly have go power toward success while we are fighting for survival. Sometimes the energy of stress and anxiety can fuel go power for movement toward success.

But when you want to move onto thriving, you need another kind of go power to drive us toward success. You may have been moving up the emotional scale from misery, to stress and anxiety, and finally move into changing your approach to the world by the use of positivity and optimism. You’ve moved out of survival, worry, revenge, into the higher vibrations of boredom, contentment, hope, and optimism and even positive expectancy. Those are wonderful feeling states, and certainly you have moved into higher vibrations which are critical to applying the law of success. But where is the go power in this range? To be happy is a powerful use of the law of success and the law of attraction, but if you are looking for a specific result – particularly a monetary result, then vision is critical. It is your propulsion power in these upper regions of the vibratory scale.

Along the way up the scale, you have learned to trust the Universe, learned to trust your intuition, and learned to pay attention to signs and synchronicities. This happens as you flow with the law of success. You have learned to believe in possibilities and turn them into positive expectancy. Now your vision can become your rudder and the winds of the Universe fill your sail. You can go anywhere. You can accomplish anything for you have the law of success at your back.

Your vision creates compelling movement forward. It may be to have a sense of fulfillment, to give back to the world, to make a contribution in some way. Now your vision upgrades itself to including you, others, and the world in a vast interconnected way. Masterminding is one of the keys in law of success. It invites you to sit at the table with the greats.

A book just jumped off the bookshelf and said read me. When I opened it I saw this quote from Buckminster Fuller “The purpose of our lives is to add value to the people of this generation and those that follow.”

T. Harv Eker said “But hear this: Your life is not just about you. It’s also about contributing to others. It’s about living true to your mission and reason for being here on this earth at this time. It’s about adding your piece of the puzzle to the world. Most people are so stuck in their egos that everything revolves around me, me, and more me. But if you want to be rich in the truest sense of the word, it can’t only be about you. It has to include adding value to other people’s lives.”

Vision expands your perspective, your world view. It grows to include your mission. This vision knows you have a mission. Every one on the planet has their own mission. Eker went on to say. “We each came to this earth with natural talents, things we’re just naturally good at. These gifts were given to you for a reason: to use and share with others. Research shows the happiest people are those who use their natural talents to the utmost. Part of your mission in life then must be to share your gifts and value with as many people as possible. That means being willing to play big” (from Secrets of the Millionaire Mind).

Your vision, mission, purpose, or calling, is your soul speaking to you and saying “Let us be the best we can be. Let us call forth our greatness and make the most of this life.” Your vision is a continuing call to action. The Law of Success responds to that mission and that purpose saying “There is a need for your specific gifts and talents on this earth. Call them forth. Life needs you.”

In this last link go read what George Bernard Shaw said about Life. It is a delicious cry to Life and Vision and Purpose.
