The Secret Law of Success is born in each of us. In a one-room cabin on Pound River, Virginia, in 1883, Napoleon Hill was born into abject poverty. Showing the Law of Success, he became a writer at the age of 13 as a ‘mountain reporter’ for a small town newspaper. Demonstrating the Law of Success in action, Hill went on to become the first and premier American author with an organized approach to self help. One of the best selling motivational authors of all time, he has written the famous Think and Grow Rich, The Law of Success, Keys to Success, Keys to Positive Thinking and many others.

Napoleon Hill found the secret behind The Secret way before the movie was ever conceptualized, already a practitioner of The Law of Success. He is a favorite author of mine. When I first read Think and Grow Rich, it got under my skin. I have never forgotten him. Something about the way he writes makes me feel a personal connection to the secrets of the universe. I sensed even 30 years ago, that he had indeed found some Secret of the Universe, some Law of Success and I wanted it. I have found myself returning to his work again and again.

Over the next weeks, let us explore his seventeen principles of personal achievement, a rough sketch of the Law of Success in which the secrets are revealed. These 17 principles are as follows:

That Self in you always calls to you, sounding the note that is uniquely you, calling you to return to connection with this deepest Self. You are never forsaken. Meditation, prayer, contemplation, silence are a few ways to connect with this Self. This Self has a powerful vision of you – the knowledge of who you really are.

Sometime this Self is a secret unknown by you. The Law of Success calls you to return to Self, and open the pipeline to the Flow: the flow of all the secrets of prosperity, success, health, wellbeing, wealth and wisdom. This secret Self is quiet, allowing you the freedom of choice. The Law of Success is written in the secret cells of every portion of your body mind and soul. You have only to open to hear and receive it.

Establish a Mastermind Alliance

The Secret Law of Success # 2 is that where two or more of like mind come together with purpose the Universal Flow can support success even more effectively. Napoleon Hill created the idea of a Mastermind Alliance, where all members come together to help each other succeed.

Success happens in concert with others. When a group of people come together with purpose to hold the energy for the success of each person there, marvelous happenings occur. The Secret Law of Success, Establish a Mastermind Alliance, exponentially multiplies the visualizations done.

My daughter and I form an improvised Mastermind Alliance, the Secret Law of Success principle 2, every time we do what we call “17 seconds.” When we visualize the Secret Law of Success for someone else with purpose, we find it is much easier for us to do, because there are no blocks inside when we are praying, contemplating and visualizing success for another person. We do find that the power is amped when we do our “17 second prayer” together.

Carefully with purpose select a few people – even one more will do- to include in your Mastermind Alliance. This selection is an important part of The Secret Law of Success #2. You want someone who can also harmonize with the Law of Success.

Determine your purpose as a Mastermind Alliance. Make sure you own personal goal is aligned with that of the group’s definite purpose, a Secret Law of Success principle.

Acknowledge what skills and attributes each member brings to the master mind alliance. At your first meeting, introduce yourselves; identify your personal definite purpose; what strengths you have as a person, and what you bring to the group. This acknowledgement of each other’s strengths helps align the Mastermind Alliance, the Secret Law of Success #2.

Napoleon Hill states you should determine your rewards as a group on purpose. Get very clear what you are committing to. Each of you contribute to the whole, each of you will benefit. If someone is not willing to go the distance, (set a prescribed period of time), then it is not a match. When you know what you each expect from each other, you can maintain harmony in the Secret Law of Success; Mastermind Alliance on purpose.

Regular meetings with a specific time and place for the meetings will set up a structure for the flow of the Secret Law of Success to dwell in the midst of your Mastermind Alliance.

Should you not have a group of people to include in your Mastermind Alliance, then form such a Mastermind Alliance between your self and your Self. Still follow the above steps in setting up this Mastermind Alliance with your Self. Specific time, place, purpose, knowledge of strengths are just as important in the Secret Law of Success # 2.

Successful people often are very careful with whom they partner with purpose. A marriage, a business partner, a friendship can all be a form of a Law of Success Mastermind Alliance. The key to any of these Mastermind Alliances is the harmony between each other. The ability to inspire harmony will help develop an attractive personality which is the next step.
