The Secret to Creating the Impossible

I am SO much better. To celebrate my return, I wanted to share a very simple secret to creating a reality that you want, but seems improbable. It is so simple.

All you have to really do is
know that it is possible.

This sounds too easy to be true. But it is simple, and it is true. Ah, but the however…… to know (not just believe) that it is possible: that is the conundrum. I have written about it repeatedly here on this blog. Here are steps to the creation of the impossible.

1. Be tuned in, tapped in, and turned on to your aliveness.
2. Raise your vibratory rate again, and again, and again.
3. Do your personal and spiritual growth work.
4. Trust in your own inner compass and use your intuition.
5. Connect with the best and highest of yourself.
6. Connect with the largest vision of your life.
7. Stay in flow as much as possible
8. Enjoy and delight in the present moment.
9. Know that what you desire is possible.
10.Journey through the gap between “what is currently” to the “what is of the future”.

“What?##!!” you say. “That could take a lifetime.” So it could, but what a lifetime it is! And as I have said so many times before, it is all a State of Being. Some people call it a mindset. But there is much more to it than your mind. It is your whole being, body, soul, emotions, mind, and consciousness.

A story might help. I had a health condition called colitis. (I changed the verb to past tense, did you notice). My Dad and his brother also had it. My Dad was forced to retire when in his early 40’s because he could not work.

My colitis began in my late 40’s and I was able to work. Last
fall I resolved to make my health my top priority. The autoimmune food plan that I have committed to has really made an improvement. I’ve been feeling better.

However, in my secret self, I did not believe I would ever be without this ‘disease.’ I’ve heard many stories of other people who were able to make themselves better, but inside I figured that was for other people, it couldn’t happen to me. One day something really got my attention.

I was telling my oldest brother about my condition, and he just out of the blue, said “You know don’t you, that Dad healed himself of this when he was 65?” I said no, I didn’t know that. My whole being reeled!

He continued. “You are doing the same thing, you know. You are eating only those foods that don’t create inflammation. You are eating happy meat, you are eating organically. You are fundamentally creating the same circumstance that Dad did. The other thing he did was gather some prayer warriors and ask for a healing.”

I thought to myself, “My Dad was really a lot sicker than I ever have been. If he could live with the disease that long, and then cure it when he was 65, then by golly so can I!”

And all of a sudden, healing my body of the disease became very real to me. I could now envision the possibility of being free of Colitis. The Universe has offered me some very different ways of healing it that I didn’t expect. I totaled my car in March while driving to see my daughter. My doctor offered a brand new procedure to take out my colon except for a few inches of it (no outside bag). “You would be disease free” she said.

Dying or having major surgery was not what I had in mind. But there was certain humor about the fact that I could be completely disease free in those possibilities. I passed on those options.

But now I knew it was possible to become free of this condition. And I am getting better and better and better. Sometime soon, I intend to report to you that I no longer have that condition.

When you know something CORE deep, it is so much easier to journey through the unknown of the GAP without clutching in fear or the need to figure it out.

So that’s the profound secret to changing Reality from what you have to: what you want it to be. Just this simple. Know that it is possible.

What Two Ingredients Put You Into Flow?

These last three months, I have not been in Flow. Before I tell you about the two special ingredients of Flow, which I am so glad I remembered I want to tell you my journey.

My consciousness has been getting more alert and I feel I can see more. Some truly spectacular things have been happening for me, and yet it has been a very jerky ride. One day things are great. The next day, or moment, things are upside down again.

Usually, when I am in the flow, my life feels magical. Reality seems to actually become pliable. This life these last three months? Not so much. Yet I have made huge strides in clarity, self-confidence, boundaries, speaking my truth, and the most wonderful thing is that I have dropped a huge amount of reactivity. I am more authentic, powerful, and straightforward. And with this empowerment a few darker areas of my consciousness came to light.

These High Octane Times
Here’s what I’m thinking. We are in times when things are shifting big time. If you can stay tuned in, tapped in, turned on to life, your awareness will expand and you see multiple dimensions of possibility.

But making this shift is a challenge. Whatever is not alive and awake comes up and grabs you and says “Wake up!” It is not fun getting those wake up calls. But the potential is phenomenal and the energy is here for us to transform exponentially. The energy will propel us forward powerfully. Of course when we hit a snag, it feels like running into a tree when we have been going 100 miles an hour.

For a while in this high octane energy field, I got lost in some depression, some nostalgia during the holidays, and having poor health for at two months.

So what did I do? I read, relaxed, tried to get well, and worked my emotional process. I got somewhat lost in the feelings, though I trusted the process and knew it would lead me forward.

Remembering at Last
This morning I was inspired to relisten to a seven minute video Vishen Lahkiani, CEO of a personal growth company called MindValley. He reminded me of those essential ingredients to the state of flow and four states of mind in his video Flow, The Paradox of Intention and Four States of Mind. I thought you might enjoy his perspective.

Four States of Mind
Vishen identifies these four states of those people who are business owners and follow the Law of Attraction. Vishen has developed this concept over a couple of years and says the Flow is the 4th step. Here is a description of each state, and the name I call them.

1. Misery or Survival

        You are completely unhappy right now –

2. Comfort of Current Reality.

        You are happy, content, but you have no vision. ‘Let’s all hang out in Bliss.’ –

3. Stress and Anxiety

        You have great dream and visions, but unhappy because they are not there yet –

4. Flow

        When you are happy now, you have a vision and are happy with the journey –

While I was working my process, I had gotten lost in the Stress and Anxiety State of Mind. And sometimes that’s just natural. I was looking at a core pattern that I want to transform. This pattern has deep roots, has operated for my lifetime, and had a very dark piece that came into being to protect an innocent child.

This journey into Stress and Anxiety was an intentional act of courage to look at a core wound I have so that I can transmute this pattern and restore my connection with “Who I really Am.” I just got bogged down in the survival vibrations along the way.

Two Ingredients to Flow
So what are the two ingredients to restore myself to Flow? According to Vishen I need to:

    Be happy now (before I reach my dream).
    Have the vision of where I am headed.

So happiness is part of the journey not the destination. This balancing of happiness right in this moment, while aspiring for something we want or are dreaming about is something Esther Hicks calls The Gap in the Law of Attraction work.

Vishen is saying “Get rid of Stress and Anxiety while you are on the journey.” And that my friends are what we are called to do right now in these times. It is not always easy, but it is incredibly fulfilling. See Journeying Through the Gap.

Last month I worked on my Vision Board for 2015. So I am very clear about my vision this year. I just had forgotten to be happy along the way (even though it is on my Vision Board). I’m reminding myself about ways to go back to being happy. Counting my blessing always makes me feel better.

This journey of living and becoming more conscious is a constant growing and then rebalancing process and sometimes we forget along the way. It’s just natural. And now that I’ve finished this essay, I realize that I knew all this all the time – just as you do too. We’re just human beings doing the best we can. We are constantly Remembering and Forgetting.

Journeying through the Gap

Journeying through the Gap is not a passive state. It requires that we take lots of steps. I have a confession to make. Last year I had a number of challenges, but I had some mega successes as well. I wrote about some of them in the blog entry Ten Steps to Turn Burning Goals into Reaity, and Meditation, Manifestation and the Law of Success.

I received stunning support from the universe for some large requests.

Then I needed to live through the receiving of those things in my life, and it just has not been a piece of cake. The challenges have been so high from having these wonderful things in my life, that sometimes I feel as though I have been brought to my knees.

Frankly, it scared me to receive all that I had asked for, because the accompanying challenges have been equally stunning. I think I lost some courage about asking for anything more because my plate has been so full. It feels as though the Universe has been asking me to live bigger.

Because I haven’t been asking for things, or events, or successes, I haven’t been as focused on the principles that I write about on this blog. So guess what happened? You can see it coming can’t you? My vibration dropped. My spiritual practices have tapered off. And I have forgotten how supportive the Universe can be.

There are stages in the Law of Attraction. I was reminded of that by a recent quote I saw.

God Makes a Promise.
Faith Believes it.
Hope Anticipates it.
Patience quietly awaits it.

These four stanzas echo four of the stages of the Law of Attraction, or manifesting. We are told to “Ask and it is given.” That is the promise we are given.

Then we enter the gap between what we asked for and the receiving of it.

We need to use our Faith to know that the ‘what is’ (current reality) is not the answered request. We have to have Faith to travel through the gap between “what is” and “what is to come.” We humans rely on our eyes and they focus on physical reality-the ‘what is.’ We are on a journey, and we need to take along supplies and reminders that we are on an inner journey of consciousness until we reach our destination. I needed to remember to have Faith, and I forgot for a while.

Hope is necessary. It anticipates our receiving our request. Hope helps us look forward through the dense undergrowth of the forest of “what is” for glimpses of the future that is making its way to us, as we move forward.

Patience is not easy for most of us. Once I am clear about what I want, I want it now. Yet, when I travel to Portland on Amtrak, I am not asking “are we here yet?” Do you remember having kids who kept asking that question when on a trip or remember asking that when you were little? So now why would I let my inner impatient child be in charge of traveling the gap?

What I do when I am on a train trip, I excitedly look forward to watching Puget Sound pass by my window. I watch the other passengers, I talk to some. I might visit the Food car. I always bring a book to pass the time. I bring snacks. I take pictures. I have a great time traveling on that train. I look for signs of towns going by to mark where I am on my journey. Each time I do the trip, I see something different. Seems to me I need to do more planning of what to do while I am waiting for the Universe to answer a request. And this is the rub, we are not just waiting, we are traveling too. Everything in our system is adjusting.

I read several blog entries here that tell me Never to Give up Hope, and Don’t Despair.

As I pondered this last year, I see that the truth is I have already been asking for much bigger things for three years – which will bring my work to more people and make me more visible. So I am in a really big gap, and I am in training to get ready to step forward into what I have asked for – which is not here yet.

The gap is so big, that I forgot while down in the forest of “What is” what my request was. While I have been in ‘training’ I have made several mistakes. I have taken it as personal when I have encountered challenges and gotten sick. Then I have felt shame, I have felt cowardly, I have beaten myself up, and generally judged myself harshly.

I think I need to go read the category called “When You Forget.”

I need to find a way to cope with the fear that of course is coming up, because I am getting closer to reaching my heart’s desire.

Some time has passed since I began this entry. I realize that I got very lost in the Forest of “What IS’. I lost hope and some faith, and certainly my direction. Then I my inner judge beat myself up unmercifully. No fun. And it helped me stay lost.

Now with some perspective, I can look back on my time of being lost in the Forest of ‘What Is’ and see that many things were percolating under the surface. In order for me to step into my greater vision of myself, I needed to traverse some inner swamps; issues such as overworking, setting boundaries, bouts of low self worth, stepping into my strength when receiving negative feedback, and more.

Now I can see I was gaining some needed resilience by traversing through some of the swamps. Just recently, I remembered the concept of the imaginal cell. When a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, it spins a cocoon. Inside, that cocoon turns into a soup before imaginal cells begin taking on the new form and emerges as a butterfly. I literally had been in the soup of transformation. I can see clumps of cells that are beginning to take form.

Seems to me our whole world is in that process, and it is not fun. But a powerful amount of restructuring is happerning.

So what do I need to do now?

  • I need to realign with my inner compass,
  • remember my bigger intention,
  • value the journey that is underway through the gap,
  • celebrate small steps forward,
  • re-energize my faith and hope,
  • take some vision trips to get a dragon’s eye view of the territory I am traversing,
  • look for signs that the universe is sending help,
  • begin having deep gratitude for the journey that is bringing me closer to my goal with every step,
  • and relax into Trusting the Process.

I’m have not travelled the whole gap yet, but I see many signs of progress. Fortified with Faith, Hope, and renewed Vision, I do trust the process for I have deep experience with it all working out for me.

Law of Success Vision Boards

Law of Success uses Vision Boards as one way of bringing success into one’s life. Law of Success uses imagery and the impetus of all the energy that one spends to begin the manifestation process.

We have talked about a technique called 17 seconds as part of the activation of the Law of Success. When you begin to hold a thought for 17 seconds, alignment begins to occur. When you can hold that thought without any interruption for multiples of 17 seconds, the universe begins to line up with your thoughts.

Vision Boards are wonderful ways to implement the 17 second process and imagination and goal setting. Success loves to follow us when we put down on paper those things we want – especially with the use of images.

Vision Boards can include more than just tangible things. I almost never put things like a car or house on my vision board. That’s just too limiting. Last year my vision included the words “gather in community.” Seven months after I put that vision board together, I was living in a condo community that functions intentionally as community. I love it.

Last year my vision board included the word “Support.” I found a club where I share my talents, my expertise, and I have all the support I want and need for my publishing endeavors.

How to do Vision Boards:
a. Set an intention to create a vision board. Ask your highest self to help you create the coming year with purpose.
b. Reflect on what you want to add into your life. It might be qualities, like order, harmony, or skills like marketing and writing.
c. Gather magazines and printed material, glue sticks, scissors, and some kind of poster board. I often use a colored background.
d. Begin to browse through the magazines looking for pictures, headlines, words, that appeal to you. Just have fun and pull out pictures and words.
e. I might take a week or a month to gather my images and words.
f. Take a special time to review your clippings, and sort through which ones you want on your Vision Board. I like to have yellow and orange on my Vision Board, and I almost always include a picture of a Beach, because I love beaches.
g. Lay out your treasures on the colored poster board. Try to leave some blank space between your picture. Choose carefully what you want as a focus for the year, and put that in the center. Last year I had a picture from a conference brochure that talked about helping the world transform.
h. Allow this process to be a creative one where you don’t have all the control. Give the Universe space to work and work through and with you. I am always surprised with how my vision board looks when it is complete.
i. When the vision board feels complete to you, use the glue stick to adhere the pictures and words to the vision board.
j. Post your vision board somewhere to be seen on a regular basis. Last year, I took a picture of it with my phone and used it as a screen saver for my phone.
k. Hold thanks and appreciation as you are working on your vision board, and after it is completed.
l. Begin to hold the feelings of what it is like to have these new circumstances in your life. Enjoy the sensations of walking on the sandy beach, or feeling the sun on your face, or experience the new connections that are in your life. See them, feel them, smell them, taste them and savor them, way before they are actually here in your reality.
m. Talk to yourself in words such as “won’t it be wonderful to have more confidence in myself?” “My life is good and things work out for me.” “What shall I wear to the beach when I go?” “I’m savoring the closeness of eating breakfast on the deck with my partner, and walking hand in hand on the beach.” “I love the sparkle in his eyes when he looks at me.” “We are having such fun getting to know each other.”

You make the images so real in your mind that you taste them and feel them happening. Its fun to enjoy your imagination like that. Before you know it, your reality reflects your imagination. It is Law. The Law of Success and the Law of Attraction look to the images in your mind, heart and soul. to see what you want. So be careful to put images there that you want. One such way is to create a Vision Board. New Years’ Eve or New Year’s Day, or the whole beginning month of January are good times to creat such a vision board.

Ten Steps to Turn Burning Goals into Reality
Turn Burning Goals Into Reality? How? Burning Goals are compelling and a necessary ingredient. Our burning goals are those desires that we believe will bring us relief from some misery. Many of these burning goals are birthed out of some discomfort or pain. You feel “I am tired of being sick, poor, or worried. I’m tired of being afraid that I can’t pay my bills this month.”

These times evoke fear and a deep unsettling. But they are doorways to miracle openings for us. You too can leave your uncertainty and worry behind and turn your burning desire into a reality. You can do this and here is how I know. I have experienced this process repeatedly. I have been traveling for almost four years which had been a dream of a lifetime. This last year, though, a new desire was birthing. I began wanting to settle in somewhere. So today, I am going to share what I learned about how to transform a burning desire, a burning goal into a reality that you can see, taste and touch.

Step 1. You decide you want to end your ceaseless pain, worry and discontent. You reach the stage where you are very clear that you want your discomfort to end. Your discomfort has reached the stage where you now are determined to do something different. Discomfort serves you very well in that regard. Discomfort is the fuel that turns a want or desire into a Burning Goal. Sometimes it is a life crisis that spurs us to have a burning goal.

Step 2. Be very clear about what you want instead of the discomfort. Inside you begin to know “This is what I want. This is what I want, and I want it now.” This clarity comes from making the decision that you are going to move ahead towards what you want instead of feeling the same old, same old.

In my story, I began to have a desire to settle into a home base.

In order for this new direction to become clear and compelling, I went through some severe discomfort. I got sick, felt vulnerable, got scared and got mad.

When the dust settled, I was clear. I was determined. There was no uncertainty. I wanted a home base, and I wanted it by the end of July. There were no ifs, ands or buts. I was willing to be flexible about the where, but I wanted the home base to be delivered to me on a silver platter thank you.

Truly, I don’t know that I would have become resolute without all the pain, illness and discomfort. So that pain was a real gift.

On my vision board at the beginning of the year, I had placed a desire for a home base, where there was strong community and good friendships with like minded people that was surrounded by beauty and lots of nature, preferably not too far from the water. So the burning goal I developed for a home base existed in the larger context of the general experiences I wanted to have in my life.

It’s fun to think about the experiences you want to have. You can do this. Its fun, it’s compelling. And it helps you co-create your life with Source.

Step 3. Gird yourself with your knowing and determination and proclaim from your depths “I will have this.” This is a proclamation. You make this assertion from the deepest most determined parts of yourself. You have trust in the Universe. You have trust in yourself, and you have trust in the process. “I will have nothing less than this.” For me this kind of certainty usually happens after I have been dilly dallying with wishing and hoping, and wondering about my deservingness. However, when I finally reach my point of no return, I take a deep breath and say “Enough. Now I am going after I want.” That is how pain, illness, discomfort or unhappiness can be very useful.

Step 4. Step into your knowing and see and feel the future. As part of the proclamation, go deep inside to see, hear, and feel what it is that you are proclaiming. This is further amplification of Step Two, but held with knowing and resoluteness and the proclamation of Step Three. This is a deep process of imagination and visualization.

In my meditative writing, over the last two months, I went through a deep process. I wrote about what I wanted. This was a deep variation of the 17 second process that I write about. Then one day very unexpectedly, this profound response came back that my home base was on the way. Now I love my inner guidance. But just because it told me it was on its way did not mean that I knew it for sure.

Step 5. You have to rest comfortably in the unknowing. Ha! Who do you know rests comfortably in unknowing? That’s one of the most uncomfortable places there is! Too bad. You’ve got to do it anyway. Fortunately for me, I have had quite a few years of not knowing where I was going to live next, or what the next assignment would be. So I have experience in my body the knowing that if I can live through the uncertainty, that all will be revealed. Eventually. In the Law of Attraction work, you are bridging the gap between the present ‘what is” and the future “what will be” with your certainty that your goal is now on its way to you, even if you can’t see it at the moment.

So in effect, you replace the uncomfortableness of pain and distress of the “what is” in your life that created this burning goal. You replace it with the uncertainty of not knowing when it is going to happen or how. Fun! That’s why so many people rush back to the known, because it is so much more comfortable than being in new territory and not knowing! At least the pain and misery is a known commodity. Don’t do it!!!!!

Not only do you rest comfortably in the unknowing, you also must hold the knowing and resoluteness that you felt in Step 3. So you constantly are saying to yourself, “I may not know the how, the when or where of this manifestation, but I am clear that it is manifesting even now as we speak.”

For me, this is the most challenging step of manifestation. Living in the Gap, when the reality has not yet appeared brings up all my fears, issues, challenges, deservingness, and trust. Read the following blog about one way I live in the Gap. Meditating and Manifestation.

Step 6. Ask for and Watch for signs that the universe is co-creating with you. See how your insides respond.
Out of the blue, an acquaintance in Oregon asked me if I would consider sharing housing with her. I took that as a sign. Another friend really gave me a sales pitch of how wonderful it would be for me. I said, “OK. I will consider it.” It meant giving up a singing in a choir that I loved, so I got to a place where I was willing to let that go. I kept staying detached about what city and state that I wanted as my home base. There was some fun in trying on different living locations in my mind. I paid close attention to how it felt inside me as I was trying this on in my imagination. I paid close attention to another sign. Though I was heavily booked until July 30, no new assignments for travel came in. For me that was almost a communication from the universe saying, your place will be here by the end of July.

Pay attention to how you feel inside as possibilities arise. So I thought I was probably going to be moving to Oregon. I started letting friends know. They expressed support, and regret that I would be further away. Whenever I would travel, I would ask myself, “How would I like it here? How does this feel to my body? How does this feel energetically? Anacortes has always appealed to me, but when I would think about it, I didn’t notice any “click” inside. I watch for a resounding “YES” inside. I watch for the “click” that says, yes, this would work.

Step 7. Act as if the future is here now. Keep living your life as though “what will be” is solved already. I had made commitments. I kept those. I stayed connected and engaged with people, no matter where I was. A friend called me up and asked me to consider helping a friend who would need surgery in October. I went to meet this new person, had a delightful dinner with both she and my friend. Several days later, my friend called me up an invited me to wander around the farmer’s market. We had a delightful sunny Saturday, and went for coffee. Out of my mouth burst this rush of words about what I had been reading, studying and writing. I don’t usually share unless I know that the person listening really wants to hear about this stuff, because it is too precious. She listened raptly. I went “Oh, my God. She likes this. She’s interested in these spiritual aspects.” We were both energized and buoyant. I had just read “Conversations with God” and “The Field” and I was mesmerized by both. We talked about reading “Ask and it is Given” and having discussions. I was thrilled.

That day was one of the happiest days I had in these last two months. I paid attention.

Step 8. Take inspired action and watch what happens. I made plans to travel to Portland to talk with my potential housemate. Twice I had to postpone the trip because of things that came up. I went onto Craig’s list and looked up housing in Eugene which was another location I was considering. I felt bad when I got offline. The other inspired action I took was to continue my meditative writing every day. Then the potential housemate started talking about houses in areas and in price ranges that were uncomfortable to me. I paid attention. I wanted this housing delivered to me. I figured the Universe could come up with a far better solution that I could.

And do your present work. Clean the house. Keep your laundry done. Mow the yard. Do those things that are necessary that support your life.

Step 9. Resist trying to Make Something Happen or settle for less than what you really want. My brain began to come up with people to talk to, possible solutions to housing because it can’t stand waiting a long time. But in every scenario, there was something “less than” that would mean I would be settling for a solution just to get out of my uncomfortableness. I noticed that was happening. I wrote about it. I entered my writing meditation again, and asked myself what it would be like to simply let go and let the universe provide an elegant solution. Since I have tried to force solutions many times and I know what that result brings, I decided to do what I haven’t done before, which is to wait for the Universe.

Step Ten. The Universe provides you with an elegant solution. Celebrate with deep Gratitude. In late June, my phone rang, and my farmer’s market friend called and said “My housemate just gave notice, and you were the first person I thought of with whom I would like to share my home.” My insides made a resounding YES! Because of a conflict of schedules, we did not have a face to face talk about details for almost three weeks. More waiting. More uncertainty. But we have agreed to try it out and see how it goes. My insides are very happy. Her home is about one half mile from a delightful little downtown overlooking a boardwalk along the waterfront. It feels like a God send to me. And it is. Literally.

Now these steps will work every time. But there is a codicil. It takes a particular state of being to co-create with the Universe like this. Since it is my life purpose to try to live from this state of being, I practice it a lot. In this state of Being, there is flow, and synchronicity, and lots of trust and knowing that comes from the experience of doing this again and again. But there is always a first time. The first time I had a desire manifest itself by walking in through my front door, my body understood on an experiential level that this can and does work. This can and will work for you. I started out with small things, like getting a rice cooker, or a huge mirror for the living room. That mirror walked into my living room in my sister’s arms. She had found it outside by the dumpster. The rice cooker got placed in front of me on while I was at coffee on swap day where I will soon be living. I know these events are just the universe letting me know it answers.

I also did it before I ever heard the term Law of Attraction. I wanted to work in a mortgage company. I got a work assignment in a mortgage company. I wanted to work in a small company. Got it. I wanted to work in a Trust Company. I got it. I wanted to work in a Training Company. I got an assignment in one. I wanted to see what it would be like to work in HR, because I had thought of a career there. I worked for a huge HR corporation. It was so cool to have gotten all these incredible assignments. Ask and ye shall receive.

Now you can ask and receive. Find something you really, really want. Something you know is possible for you to receive. Intend to have it like I did the rice cooker and the very large mirror. Then get on with living. Celebrate when it arrives. Write me and let me know your stories. Meditate to a new State of Being

Meditate to a new State of Being that will bring you peace, prosperity, joy, and a deep personal connection between you, You, and the Universe. Meditation is an act of allowing yourself to settle into the quiet and profoundness of the essence of You.

As we grow up, we create our personalities in response to what and how we experience life. We are truly unbelievable creators, for our personalities are quite strong and opinionated.
But there is more to us than personalities. There is a cosmic seed in each of us that germinated and then we sprouted personalities. But that timeless essence is always available in each of us as well. Most of us just never learned to quieten ourselves to tune into it.

What we need to do is bypass all the clutter of thoughts, past hurts, emotional bruises, and the different world views and beliefs held close. Meditation is one way to do that. Contemplation and prayer are other ways. Use of imagination is yet another approach.

This winter, I have sat in front of many wood stoves and watched the fire. Each time I do, I find myself slowly relaxing, looking at the fire with soft eyes, and gently finding my way back to the fullness of well-being. We’re not trying to do anything, we are slowly relaxing back to the well-being of Source. That cosmic seed that still exists in each of us is a part of Source.

If you have been having a difficult time connecting with this idea that You that came from Source, then try sitting in front of a fire. Give yourself permission to sit as long as you want, and to drift into a zone where you are relaxed, enjoying the fire, present to the here and now (not off in past memories or future things to do).

Watch with soft eyes and a soft mind. Let yourself be lulled into the quiet. Savor the sweetness of watching the flames. Hear the quiet. Let the peace fill your mind and body. You need do nothing. You need not try anything. You’re just allowing yourself to settle deep into the essence of you where you feel like you, but you are deeply relaxed. You feel full. You have soft wonder of the flames.

There is a lulling past all thoughts and activity down to the core of you. Here there are no worries and cares, there’s just the gentle warmth of the fire, the flickering of the flame, and the deep quietness where you know all is well.

It is from this place, this state of being that we can create quickly and profoundly. for we have created resonance between our personality and our Source or Seed Self. Doing 17 seconds from this place within will bring profound results. This is the secret to the Law of Attraction that so many people don’t know or understand.

That secret is to shift into a state of being where there is resonance inside of you with the essence or core of You. Then in that state of resonance visualize in great detail what you wish, and stand in the knowing that all is well. In this zone of profound quietness, you will know that you are in tune, tapped in, and that there is nothing that you cannot do or have.

All you had to do was watch the fire, allow yourself to soften and relax back to the state where you are resonant with yourself.

State of Mind State of Being

Fundamental to the Law of Attraction and to the Law of Success is one’s state. It makes sense that you have different emotional states. When you are depressed, it feels very different than when you are happy. The experience of despair is quite opposite the state of vibrant expectancy of something good happening.

We each have the experience of many differing states. Each of those states has a different frequency. When you are optimistic, you are more likely to encounter others who are optimistic. When you are feeling victimized, you are apt to run into others who will be delighted to help you stay in that state. Like attracts like.

It is helpful is to know that these emotional states have a scale. Knowing the scale allows us to make movement in very tiny steps up the scale. We may not be able to move from depression to joy in one step, but we can move from depression to insecurity to anger. And from anger we can move to discouragement to doubt to overwhelment, frustration, pessimism, to boredom. From boredom, it is pretty simple to reach for contentment, even hope, then optimism, and eventually the expectancy of good things, eagerness, and happiness is not too far away. Each of these emotional “places” has their own vibration and frequency. See the post When You Forget for more information about the emotional scale.

Throughout these posts we have said that Faith is a state of mind. Optimism is a state of mind. Happiness is a state of Mind. Success is a state of mind. We habitually hang out in the state that is “normal” for us. A “state” is a frequency, a band of energy, a way of thinking, a state of consciousness, a vibratory frequency, a way of being if you will.

Scarcity consciousness is a state of being or a state of mind. Wealth consciousness is a state of being or a state of mind. They carry very different thoughts, beliefs, and therefore send out very differing vibratory frequencies – they send out very different energies.

Think of it this way. How do you respond when you are around someone who is pessimistic, and tell stories about their lives that portray themselves as the victim of poor luck? How do you respond when you spend time with someone who is upbeat, optimistic about a new project, who is looking forward to what happens next and believes that they make their own luck. You are responding to the “state” of the person. You are responding to the vibratory energy that is being emitted by that state. You are responding to their state of being.

If you have a visceral response to these states, doesn’t it make sense that the Universe and other people also have responses to these states? If you are in a victim state, you may feel some resonance with that person yourself. If you are tired of feeling like a victim, you may be repelled by seeing the victim state of being in another person. If you are in a victim state, you may be irritated by an exuberant person who is looking at the world with hope and expectancy.

Your state is absolutely all important to your getting what you want and need, whether it is success in love, relationships, money, new jobs, fulfillment, hobbies, friendships, athletics, or spiritual development.

Recognizing that you have different state of awareness or beingness, or consciousness, or states of emotions, or states of mind – whatever fits for you – is essential. When you recognize that you have different states you have more options. You can accept that these are all you – without judgment, and again you have more options.

When you begin to recognize which state you are in, you can begin to make choices about whether or not you want to continue in that state. Each state has tell tale signs. When I get really irritable and grouchy and want to lash out, I know that my victim state has taken command and that I really am irritated with the Universe (actually myself).

If I remember soon enough, I will be grateful that I am in an irritable state, because I have far more energy available than when I am depressed, because it is higher up on the emotional scale. When I am irritated I have more capacity for movement.

Then I do some tapping (EFT) or some prayer or some meditation, or some journaling, or any other numerous ways to move from that state to one where I am happier and more able to relax into the state of being of my choice.

Vibration, the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success

Vibration, the Law of Success and the Law of Attraction are powerful principles described by Napoleon Hill. In the last two posts we have looked at the Subconscious mind and Faith. Napoleon Hill believes that the subconscious mind provides a link with Infinite Intelligence and all other minds (Law of Attraction). But to see how the subconscious mind communicates with the Infinite Intelligence is important. Here is how Napoleon describes the dynamic behind the Law of Success which is also known as the Law of Attraction.

“Comes now a very significant statement of truth:

THOUGHTS WHICH ARE MIXED WITH ANY OF THE FEELINGS OF EMOTIONS, CONSTITUTE A ‘MAGNETIC’ FORCE WHICH ATTRACTS, FROM THE VIBRATIONS OF THE ETHER, OTHER SIMILAR, OR RELATED THOUGHTS. A thought thus “magnetized” with emotion may be compared to a seed which, when planted in fertile soil, germinates, grows, and multiplies itself over and over again, until that which was originally one small seed, becomes countless millions of seeds of the SAME BRAND!” (p.72) (Law of Attraction)

This description by Hill of the law of attraction which is essential to the Law of Success was written in the late 1930’s and edited out of many editions of Think and Grow Rich. Editors did not believe that the mass public would want to hear about vibrations and ether. These same principles were edited out of The Secret. Law of Attraction and Law of Success are based upon the same principles.

“The ether is a great cosmic mass of eternal forces of vibration. It is made up of both destructive vibrations and constructive vibrations. It carries at all times, vibrations of fear, poverty, disease, failure, misery; and vibrations of prosperity, health, success, and happiness, just as surely as it carries the sound of hundreds of orchestrations of music, and hundreds of human voices, all of which maintain their own individuality, and means of identification through the medium of radio.” (Law of attraction)

“From the great storehouse of the ether, the human mind is constantly attracting vibrations which harmonize with that which DOMINATES the human mind. Any thought, idea, plan, or purpose which one holds in one’s mind attracts, from the vibrations of the ether, a host of its relatives, adds these ‘relatives’ to its own force, and grows until it becomes the dominating, MOTIVATING MASTER of the individual in whose mind it has been housed.” (Law of Success)

Essentially Napoleon Hill is saying the same as the Law of Attraction. Like attracts like. If you hold prosperous thoughts, you will attract prosperity. If you hold scarcity thoughts as your dominant vibration, you attract scarcity. Law of Success is built around this magnetic principle. Positive thinking is not the purpose of the Law of Success. Holding positive thoughts are the necessity to attract more positive results – which is the main theorem in Law of Attraction.

In the chapter on the Subconscious Mind, Napoleon Hill once more speaks of how the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success works. He says:

“less than a hundred years ago, men believed the space between the planets to be nothing but a great void, a stretch of dead nothingness. Now thanks to this same power of FAITH, men know that far from being either dead or a void, the space between the planets is very much alive, that it is the highest form of vibration known, excepting, perhaps the vibrations of THOUGHT. Moreover, men know that this living, pulsating, vibratory energy which permeates every atom of
matter, and fills every niche of space, connects every human brain with every other human brain.” (Law of Attraction)

Hill is saying the same thing Wattles says in the Science of Getting Rich. The Law of Attraction and Law of Success are based on vibration and an intelligent universe. Both men outline the principles as they understood them in the 20’s and 30’s.

All matter is energy (Einstein). All matter is vibration. Source is in every particle. Source is Intelligent. Source hears our prayers and our thoughts. Vibration is drawn to like vibration. The reason Law of Success and Law of Attraction works, is that Source is connected to all. Source sends back ideas, and intuitions. Source can arrange coincidences and serendipity for people to meet or have like mind.

“What reason have men to believe that this same energy does not connect every human brain with Infinite Intelligence?” (Law of Success, Law of Attraction)

“There are no toll-gates between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence. The communication costs nothing except Patience, Faith, Persistence, Understanding, and a SINCERE DESIRE to communicate…..” (Law of Success, Law of Attraction)

“The method by which you may communicate with Infinite Intelligence is very similar to that through which the vibration of sound is communicated by radio. If you understand the working principle of radio, you of course, know that sound cannot be communicated through the ether until it has been “stepped up,” or changed into a rate of vibration which the human ear cannot detect. The radio sending station picks up the sound of the human voice, and “scrambles,” or modifies it by stepping up the vibration millions of times. Only in this way, can the vibration of sound be communicated through the ether. After this transformation has taken place, the ether “picks up” the energy (which originally was in the form of vibrations or sound), carries that energy to radio receiving stations and these receiving sets “step” that energy back down to its original rate of vibration so it is recognized as sound.” (Law of Success, Law of Attraction)

The Law of Attraction and Law of Success are based on vibration. In Hill’s model, the subconscious is our “Radio station.” What is being broadcast out of the subconscious is very important. Old beliefs and repetitive thinking go into the subconscious. Some strategies will be talked about in future posts (EFT or Tapping). Where we put our attention is what we draw to us. This is a fundamental principal of Law of Attraction and Law of Success. If we focus on how little money we have then we attract more lack of money. This is a crucial factor in Law of Attraction and Law of Success. This understanding of the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success is extraordinarily important right now. Today. When everywhere we look and hear messages about the economy we are influenced by other’s thoughts and perceptions. If our focus is on “what is” – the slow down, the recession – then it is a guarantee that more of the same will happen. The Law of Attraction guarantees that if the national public focuses on a depression, it will happen.

As we are all influenced greatly by what is being said around us, it is paramount to understand this principle of the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success. What to do? Read the section under strategies. Practice imagining having what you do want, and what it will be like when it arrives. The Law of Attraction listens to the Subconscious. If you are imagining – and that is the only way to get those thoughts into the Subconscious – what you desire, then you are vibrating differently than when you are focused on lack. The Law of Success places much emphasis on optimism – which is a vibratory frequency more in alignment with Success.

But let’s go back to Napoleon Hill who wrote Think and Grow Rich as a direct answer for people who were coming out of the Great Depression. He took great pains to delineate the Law of Success and Law of Attraction to help that generation who were lost in fear.

“The subconscious mind is the intermediary, which translates one’s prayers into terms which infinite Intelligence can recognize, presents the message, and brings back the answer in the form of a definite plan or idea for procuring the object of prayer. ….Before your prayer will reach Infinite Intelligence,…it probably is transformed from its original thought vibration into terms of spiritual vibration. Faith is the only known agency which will give your thoughts a spiritual nature.” (Law of Success, Law of Attraction)

To summarize the past few posts to more fully understand the Law of Success and the Law of Attraction:

    The subconscious is our connecting Link with Infinite Intelligence.
    The subconscious mind is fed by habit.
    You can consciously “feed” the subconscious with thoughts mixed with
    Faith, Burning Desire, Powerful emotions, Imagination.
    These ideas can be submitted to the subconscious only through Imagination.
    Prayers are this kind of “conscious feeding”
    The state you are in when you pray determines the result.
    Pray with Faith and Expectancy. (Ask and it is Given)
    Imagine that you already in possession of that which you desire.
    Thoughts and Images are things.
    The Universe arranges itself around you based on your vibration.
    If you vibrate scarcity and poverty – you get more of it.
    If you vibrate abundance and plenty – you get more of it.
    What you focus upon is what you attract to yourself magnetically.
    Every particle of the Universe is intelligent.
    Einstein says the most important question there is:
    Is the Universe friendly or not?

You get to pick. What kind of life do you want to have? I focused on poverty and lack most of my life. I decided that I had had enough. The Universe definitely provided me what I had been focusing on and the stories I had been telling myself and others. I much prefer feeding myself images created in the 17 second process – a strategy from the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success.

The Law of Success and the Law of Attraction want you to have what you want. The Universe will provide it to you as you imagine it to be. You get to apply a little will power and choice to what you think about. The Universe is waiting for you to apply the Law of Success and the Law of Attraction in whatever way you wish.

Tomorrow we will talk about states of being and how they affect our vibration. The vibration that we are emitting governs the effect we receive from the Law of Attraction and the Law of Success.

Prayer, Faith and the Law of Success

Prayer, Faith and the Law of Success and the Law of Attraction are interrelated. In his writings about the Law of Success Napoleon Hill says that the subconscious mind is the connecting point with the divine. When we mix Faith and emotion with our thought and imagination, it is taken by the subconscious mind and converted into a message (prayer) that can be received and acted upon by Source. When we imagine our prayers answered, we are telling our subconscious mind that we hold faith and expectancy that our prayers will be answered. It in turns communicates with Source, and the universe begins to respond in kind. That is how the Law of Success works. That is how the Law of Attraction works. Listen to the words of Napoleon Hill from Think and Grow Rich – one of his premier books on the Law of Success.

“Faith is the head chemist of the mind. When FAITH is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligences, as in the case of Prayer.”

“The emotions of FAITH, LOVE, and SEX are the most powerful of all the major positive emotions. When the three are blended, they have the effect of “coloring” the vibration of thought in such a way that it instantly reaches the subconscious mind, where it is changed into its spiritual equivalent, the only form that induces a response from Infinite Intelligence.

“Love and faith are psychic; related to the spiritual side of man. Sex is purely biological, and related only to the physical. The mixing, or blending of these three emotions has the effect of opening a direct line of communication between the finite, thinking mind of man, and Infinite Intelligence.” Is this not prayer? Prayer, Faith and Belief we defined differently in Law of Success.

Faith is a state of mind that you develop over time. Desire – especially a burning desire – can be the passion that you can blend with your thought until you have developed Faith. Then we use our imagination to imagine it accomplished, and the subconscious and the universe will not differentiate between what is real and what is imagined. Faith, Prayer, Imagination, Desire are absolute key components to the Law of Success and the Law of Attraction. Hill says. “You may benefit by passing on to your subconscious mind, any DESIRE which you wish translated into its physical or monetary equivalent, in a state of expectancy or BELIEF that the transmutation will actually take place. Your BELIEF, or FAITH, is the element which determines the action of your subconscious mind.”

The Law of Success goes on to say (via Napoleon Hill) “conduct yourself just as you would, if you were ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MATERIAL THING WHICH YOU ARE DEMANDING.” In prayer, you must ask and believe it is given.

In the 17 second technique, you imagine what you want as having been accomplished. You see it in as many ways as possible. By doing this imagination technique, you are developing faith, expectancy, and you are delivering to your subconscious mind the images of what you want. This technique is a form of prayer.

Law of Success stresses burning desire, faith, expectancy that it will happen, and the use of your imagination as the way to impress upon your subconscious that which you want to have or be. When you fervently, with passion, communicate this way, you are intentionally communicating via prayer with the Universe, which will deliver back to you that which you ask. Pray with faith and expectancy. Your prayer will be answered. Law of Success and Law of Attraction demand it. Holding the Question A Success Technique

Holding the Question is a powerful tool when utilizing the law of success. Many people can be successful, but can’t come up with AN IDEA to leverage. They may not have found their calling and they ask “what should I do?”

Holding the Question is a success process in which you walk during your day and your life “holding” the question. Some people would say it is a meditative state. It doesn’t have to be. An artist I knew loved pioneer women and read and studied about them for years. She wondered long and hard about the image to use to convey the power and the depth of those courageous women. One day as she was watching television she saw a close up camera shot of two hands pushing fabric through a sewing machine, and Eureka, Success. She knew. She created a successful series of painting using hands to convey the work they did – the women of the prairies.

Holding the question is a form of the law of attraction (aligned with the law of success). Ask such questions as “I wonder what I could sell?” “I wonder what image I could use?” “I wonder what particular attributes of mine would the universe like me to successfully use to put my gifts out there for others?” “I wonder what kind of successful business would enable me to thrive?” By wondering about the answer, you are holding up the possibility of an answer, and one will come to you successfully.

This is not difficult. “I wonder where we should eat tonight,” “I wonder what movie we should see this weekend,” “I wonder if we should have some people over?” are the same kinds of questions. You do it all the time. You are just broadening the arena. Do you research what movies are playing? Do you contemplate what restaurants you like, and how far you want to drive?

You do the same in the process of holding the question and with the same kind of success attitude as well. You know there is an answer to what movie you will eventually see. My artist friend received her successful answer, though it took five years before everything gelled for her to see it.

Tell yourself that you are “holding the question.” Do your homework and your research, gather all you know together, and then lift the question up to Source, to the Universe, to God, whatever you call your higher power. Then go about your days, (weeks, and months if necessary) knowing that the answer will come. It is law. It is an appropriate use of the Law of Success.
