Law of Success: The Untold Secrets

“Law of Success: The Secret of You”

Law of Success One: Know Yourself. YOU are a magnificent mystery. How much of YOU do you know? How much of YOU have you developed? How much of YOU have YOU connected with? What aspects of YOU are going to use the Laws of Success? In this post are three keys to unlock this combination of YOU so that you may use the power of the Laws of Success.

Many geniuses through the ages have given many laws of success. One of the most brilliant inspirers of all time was Napoleon Hill who wrote a sequences of books called “The Laws of Success” When YOU review the twelve (of 17) laws of success listed below, YOU will find great similarity to the success factors that were identified in earlier posts.

Here are twelve of Napoleon Hill’s Laws of Success:

    1. Develop Definiteness of Purpose
    2. Establish a Mastermind Alliance
    3. Assemble an Attractive Personality
    4. Use Applied Faith
    5. Go the Extra Mile
    6. Create Personal Initiative
    7. Build a Positive Mental Attitude
    8. Control Your Enthusiasm
    9. Enforce Self-discipline
    10. Think Accurately
    11. Control Your Attention
    12. Inspire Teamwork

Each of these Laws of Success points to someone.

Who is the person implementing the Laws of Success? Who thinks? Who feels? Who controls your attention? Who inspires teamwork? Who conceives the definiteness of purpose? Who assembles a pleasing personality? How well do YOU know that person?

Have YOU noticed in all your reading and watching of information about the laws of success, that every author, every expert, every professional in the field of psychology always makes an assumption about YOU? They assume YOU can accomplish each item listed in the laws of success. They assume YOU know how to be persistent, consistent, and YOU can develop self determination.

But who and what comprise YOU? You have a body. YOU have a mind. Whether YOU want to or not, YOU have feelings. YOU have a personality. What else comprises YOU? Freud postulated that YOU have a subconscious – or unconscious YOU. Jung theorized that you have a field of consciousness that is your conscious YOU. One of their contemporaries, Roberto Assagioli agreed with both of them, but added that we each have a superconscious YOU, where attributes of Beauty, Nobleness, Truth, Compassion, Goodness, Wellbeing, and Wisdom reside in each of us. Each part of you has something to contribute to your use of the Laws of Success.

Successful people who operate the laws of success know much about themselves; have been willing to look at their strengths and their weaknesses. Then they strategize how to use those aspects to get where they want to go. Which aspect of YOU already applies the law of success?

Virginia Satir, Roberto Assagioli, Voice Dialogue indicate that there are different aspects of each of us. Check and see how that fits for YOU. Is there an adult YOU as well as an inner child of YOU? Do you have an aspect of YOU that might be called a judge or a critic? If YOU are a parent, have YOU developed a Parent part of YOU? Is there a part of YOU that is a pleaser or a part of YOU that might be a rebel?

These different parts of YOU relate to other people different. YOU can see that a Pleaser part and a Rebel part would relate very differently to a boss or to an officer of the law. Which part would more effectively use the laws of success? The Sixth of Hill’s laws of success is to Create Personal Iniatative. Would the Pleaser or the Rebel be more able to Create Personal Initiative thereby using the laws of success? Which one would be more able to Develop a Pleasing Personality, using the Third law of success? Which aspect would be more capable of Developing a Positive Mental Attitude, the Seventh law of success?

These different parts of YOU think very differently from each other. A scared Inner Child would approach a job evaluation appointment with a supervisor very differently than a confident Adult YOU. Which part could win using the laws of success? The First of Hill’s laws of success is to Develop A Definiteness of Purpose. Which of the Inner Child or the Adult is more likely to be able to have A Definiteness of Purpose? Is the Inner Child or the Adult more likely to generate enthusiasm, alluded to in the Eighth law of success?

Is there a part of YOU have has developed some real expertise in which YOU are confident? Are YOU an Artist, Salesperson, Social Worker, Machinist, Lawn Architect, Mother, Father, Wife, Husband, Researcher, Public Speaker and so forth? That aspect of YOU has developed many strengths and qualities. YOU can multiply these strengths when you employ the laws of success. Didn’t you use Self Discipline, Law of Success number Nine, to develop this area of expertise? Wasn’t it absolutely essential that YOU are able to Focus Your Attention, Law of Success number Eleven when YOU developed these skills?

Each part of YOU has a set of beliefs and a way of seeing the world. Often these may be in conflict with each other. The Laws of Success ask YOU to Think Accurately (Number Ten). The scared child part sees the world very differently than the seasoned expert. Each part has different experiences. The scared child does not have the expertise and the successes that have been developed in the Artist, Salesperson, etc. Which of these aspects of YOU can Go The Extra Mile, Law of Success number Five?

The rich and successful are not different from YOU and me. They have just unearthed some keys to unlock the fabulous treasures of themselves.

Can YOU become aware that the magical mystery of YOU encompasses far more than you can conceive? Can YOU accept that these aspects of YOU have different strengths and weaknesses, yet all bring some wonderful element to the table? If so, YOU have found the three keys to coordinate yourself to implement all the Laws of Success which we will discuss in further posts. The three keys of awareness, acceptance and coordination are part of the laws of success.
